WBAP is one of the oldest radio stations in Texas, dating back to 1922, when stations in Texas were still given call signs beginning with "W" instead of "K".

Jay, a Fort Worth native, started his broadcast career as a teenager in Liberal, Kan. He worked at Fort Worth and Memphis stations before joining WBAP in 1981.

I don't live in DFW, but did a quick Google search and found that, in January 2024, Cumulus Media replaced music-based “Hot 93.3” with a simulcast of news/talker WBAP (820 AM). Not long after the flip, Cumulus filed the necessary FCC paperwork to change the station's official call sign from KLIF-FM to WBAP-FM.

Owned by iHeartMedia, KRRL serves as the flagship for Big Boy's Neighborhood. The KRRL studios are located in the Los Angeles suburb of Burbank, while the station transmitter resides on Mount Wilson.
