• Do you wash my clothes together with other people’s clothes?

  Your clothes get their own machine, are separated by lights and darks, cleaned according to your preferences, and delivered neatly folded to your door – we even pair your socks.

• Where do you clean my clothes?

  Your clothes are cleaned at one of our vetted cleaning partners. We only work with carefully selected local cleaners who have established a very high level of quality and reliability. For your protection and overall peace of mind, we have also built multiple layers of inspection and control to ensure high-quality.

• What is the turnaround time?

  The normal turnaround time for delivery is 3-4 days for all our services.

  For Wash & Fold, we also offer next-day Rush Service for an additional fee of $9.95. Note all Rinse Repeat Plus plans include free Rush Service on all Wash & Fold orders.

  At this time, Hang Dry and Dry Cleaning cannot be rushed.

• What if I’m not at home during pickup or delivery?

  If you are not available during our 8pm - 10pm delivery window, you can enable the Rinse Drop settings on your account, which will allow you to designate where you would like your order to be left. Please note that we do require a Release of Liability in order to enable the Rinse Drop settings on your account.

  If you opt to utilize Rinse Drop for pickup or delivery, we ask you to consider that our Valet has access to a safe place to pick up and deliver your clothes. Typically, this means you can buzz us into your apartment building remotely or you can provide a door code, but every situation is different. If you don’t feel comfortable with your items or deliveries being left there, please don’t select it as your Rinse Drop location!

• Where is Rinse located?

  Headquartered in San Francisco, Rinse operates in many cities in the United States – check out the full list of cities Rinse operates in.

• Should I separate my laundry?

  We just ask that you separate your Dry Cleaning / Launder & Press from your Wash & Fold clothes prior to your Valet’s arrival. If you are not able to do so, no problem! Our Valet will still provide your Rinse bags and can standby while you sort your items.

  There is an easy rule of thumb for how to best separate your laundry:

  • Anything you would like returned, pressed, and on hangers should be placed in the WHITE (Dry Clean / Launder & Press) bag.
  • Any laundry you want machine washed and returned folded should be placed in the BLACK (Wash & Fold) bag.

  We also offer customers TEAL Hang Dry bags. These bags are for any laundry you want machine washed and hung to dry (a.k.a. “air dry” or “line dry”).

• Do you have same-day or next-day delivery in New York?

  Next-day option for Wash & Fold is available!

  We offer next-day Wash & Fold for an additional Rush Service fee of $9.95. You can select this option when placing your order or set a permanent preference for next day Wash & Fold on our customer preferences page.

  In addition, all Rinse Repeat Plus plans include free Rush Service so you’ll get your laundry back the next-day during our normal service hours (between 8pm and 10pm).

  At this time, Hang Dry and Dry Cleaning cannot be rushed.

Have you ever wondered why most New York City apartments do not have a washing machine?

Space is an obvious reason given the high demand within the city, but lesser known reasons include the taxes, permits, and building codes required by New York City’s Department of Buildings. Installation fees for a washer and dryer in New York City can cost up to $5,000 and the pipes attached to the machine need to be maintained regularly in order to avoid flooding and damage to other floors in the case of a laundry mishap. Dryers also need significant ventilation to reduce the risk of fires.

This can be a daunting and time-consuming experience -- on average, people spend 3+ hours per week on laundry and dry cleaning. That’s a lot of time spent on dry cleaning and laundry that could be used doing other things -- especially for those living the demanding and fast-paced lifestyle of New York City.

In recent years, services like Rinse, which offer more efficient and sustainable ways for getting your laundry and dry cleaning done, including door-to-door pickup and delivery service, have become more readily available, providing a very welcome reprieve for busy New Yorkers.
