I made the mistake of probably cutting my chops too thinly, so they dried up by the time the dish was done, but the sauce is absolutely one of the best I've ever made. It was also very simple to make with very little prep work and almost no cleanup aside from my cast iron skillet. I also didn't cover it, and it turned out great. I served it with a side of Yukon gold garlic mashed potatoes, which mixed with the mushroom sauce wonderfully.

Good...but the whiskey flavor was extremely intense, and I only used a quarter cup. I use boneless pork chops and cooked for about 30 mins. The sauce thickened up nicely. As other reviewers have mentioned, it needed a little more seasoning.

These were fantastic! Would make again, DEFINITELY a keeper. The flavor was totally there and honestly the only reasons I'm not giving it five stars: the sauce breaks the minute you put it in the oven, first, so it's not as pretty as the picture, so I wouldn't necessarily serve for company; second, if you were to sear a full five mins each side before popping in the oven, those chops would be DRY as heck. I seared for only a minute or so each side, just enough to brown right. The mushrooms soak up the flavor amazingly, I'd probably add a little more next time, I realized I was wanting more mushrooms as I ate it because they were that good.

Easy to make but next time I don't think I will leave it in the oven nearly as long. My husband (who is a whiskey connoisseur) loved is so much he almost licked the pan.

A keeper for sure. And the mashed potatoes are a perfect match to pick up all the sauce from the plate! Super easy. 5 stars no doubt.

This was like oven stroganoff, and we liked it, but didn't think it was extraordinary. The best part was the one-pan concept, and it was very simple to make. We had very thick pork chops (> 1 inch), and they only needed 45 minutes (probably less) Our sauce did not thicken, and we reduced it a little on the stove after we took the pork chops out of the pan. The sauce also needed some more flavor, I recommend increasing the salt, pepper, and sage, and maybe adding some extras based on your taste (garlic, cayenne, thyme). We served it with pierogi, but in the future, we would make some extra sauce serve it with some egg noodles and a green veggie (peas, maybe?).

Anytime my hubby says "this is good" must mean it really is GOOD! It takes a lot for him to admit he likes something. The chops came out super tender and juicy. He's not a drinker at all, so when I told him they were made with whiskey he was surprised. The sauce was great and did not taste like whiskey at all but it did add a unique flavor to the sauce. I omitted the mushrooms just because my hubby and son don't eat them :-( But overall this was fantastic!

Excellent! I found this recipe in one of my C.L. cookbooks after I picked up two beautiful bone-in chops at the grocery. This dish was super simple and actual hands-on time is very quick - I used honey whiskey, fresh chopped sage, and only cooked for 45 minutes in the oven vs. the full hour, but otherwise made exactly as directed. A cast iron skillet works incredibly well in this recipe as it can go from stove top to oven perfectly. As other reviewers commented, cooking the pork in the oven as a "low & slow" dish makes the meat incredibly juicy and tender, but I also think a quality chop is key here. The flavors were very complex for only a few ingredients and it tastes like a 5-star steakhouse pork chop recipe without weighing you down. I served with steamed broccoli and honey-butter biscuits - the whole meal was extraordinary and my husband couldn't get enough. Absolutely a keeper; enjoy!

This dish was amazing!! My husband especially LOVED it. I will say that with most meats for any dish, you have to buy quality pork chops to make it juicy and divine, but the "whiskey gravy" was mouthwatering! It was thick and flavorful and made plenty enough for four chops. I will definitely make it again, even for the in-laws!

This is great! I can hardly wait to serve it to guests. I don't see how anyone wouldn't like this. And, because it was baked so long, the meat was so tender, it fell off the bone.

This was fantastic! I used George Dickle No. 12 whiskey and cooked everything as directed. My chops were probably thinner than suggested, so I could have cut down the oven time by about 15-30 minutes. I served it with peal couscous and peas. I definitely plan on making this again!

Wow. This was my first attempt at making pork chops and I walked away a champ. Definitely go for thick chops, but if you don't, they won't need as much time in the oven. I used jack Daniels, served with mashed potatoes with roasted garlic butter. Step-by-step photos on my blog: http://me-myself-and-pie.blogspot.com/2009/11/one-pan-whiskey-flavored-pork-chops.html

Yum Yum Yum! Due to our house guest being a whiskey fan, I decided to give this a shot and asked to borrow some of his whiskey. Sooo glad I did, just be sure not to overcook the chops the first time around so that they can simmer in the scrumptious sauce.

I thought this was an awesome recipe!! I followed it exactly however only had two pork chops and reduced the oven time to 30 min. The sauce had excellent flavor and the pork chops were very tender. I served it with garlic and herb roasted potatoes and green beans. I will definitely make this again!

I usually shy away from pork chops, because I tend to overcook them, but this dish turned out great! I made extra sauce to ensure that the pork chops didn't dry out in the oven - they didn't, and the pork was so tender it practically fell off the bone. I also used a baking pan in the oven instead of the skillet, which worked fine. Serve this dish with green beans and mashed potatoes for a well-rounded meal.

Excellent winter dish. The mashed potatoes with roasted garlic recipe is a fantastic side and blends perfectly with the sauce from the pork chops.
