Mikey was having the best week ever.

Well, okay, maybe not the best week since his brothers weren’t here, but it was a really good week. Red, and Orange, and April, and little Splinter, took him to The Hidden City the other day, and they got to go shopping like normal people, and ran away from the police, and met all sorts of cool people! And they showed him all their favorite places in New York, and met some really cool mutants like Todd with all of his puppies, and if any humans spotted them they could just pretend to be in costumes! AND THEIR LAIR! It had a bajillion arcade games, and beanbag chairs, and fairy lights, and a projector screen to watch movies on! That was where Mikey was now, sitting with Red, Orange, April, Cassandra, CJ, and short Splinter, watching a movie about somebody called Lou Jitsu, who was actually played by Splinter before he got mutated. It was kinda weird to think about an alternate version of his dad being an action star, but his movies were really cool! On the projected screen, Lou Jitsu took out a horde of enemy ninja with some crazy impossible seeming punch thing, screaming “HOT SOUP!” As he did.

“This one has an interesting story actually. You see, there was this one stuntman, Deven? Deric? Oh, wait! It was Dave. Anyways, one day he brought twenty-seven live parakeets to set, and-“

Splinter was interrupted by a sort of whoosh noise, and a sort of purple-blue-pink light appearing underneath Mikey. He looked down in surprise as he started to drop into the rectangle of light, and all he managed to say before falling in all the way was, “This again?!”

He fell for several seconds before landing on top of the beanbag he had been sitting on a few moments earlier. He raised his head, blinking away the spots in his vision.

“IT WORKED! HAHAHA! MANIACAL LAUGH!” Shouted a familiar voice.

Mikey’s head snapped around, “PURPLE!?”

Donnie looked over at Purple, hand on the lever that would activate the portal, “Ready?”

Purple scanned the data scrolling past on the computer, “Affirmative. All systems are functioning within acceptable parameters.”

“Alright, here goes nothing…” Donnie took a deep breath, then in one quick motion slammed the lever down.

Electricity flickered over the portal frame, forcing Donnie to take a step back or risk electrocution. It arced across the air in the gateway, color shifting to a sort of purplish-pink with flashes of electric-blue swirling around the edges. There was a moment when the universe seemed to hold its breath, the lightning compressing into a ball the size of a penny as the rushing crackle that had filled the air quieted. Then, a shockwave exploded outward, leaving little arcs of lightning flashing across whatever it touched, and light filled the frame, settling into a portal more akin to the ones he was used to.

Donnie couldn’t tear his eyes away from the portal. Did it work? Would this get Mikey back? Would it let Blue and Purple go home? There were so many variables, so many ways it could have gone wrong.

Suddenly, an orange… sack? Fell out of the portal. Donnie only had a moment to be confused before a green and orange figure slammed into the sack face first.

Mikey raised his head, blinking owlishly.

“IT WORKED! HAHAHA! MANIACAL LAUGH!” Purple exclaimed beside him.

Mikey startled, looking at the softshell in surprise, “PURPLE!?”

“MIKEY!” Donnie rushed forward, checking his little brother for any signs of injury and moving him away from the portal a bit, “Are you alright? Do you need medical attention? What happened over there? Were you safe? What-“

Donnie-“ Mikey whined, “I’m fine.

“Donnie? Purple? What’s-“ Leo cut himself off as he stepped into the lab and caught sight of Mikey. He rushed to his brothers’ sides, checking Mikey over in much the same way Donnie had moments earlier before wrapping the youngest in a huge hug. “No more mystery portals for you,” He said, blinking rapidly to fend off tears, “If you do that again, I’ll make you clean the dojo, and your room.”

Guys…” Mikey pouted.

“I’m with Fearless on this one,” Raph had approached without Donnie noticing, “Never again, you hear?”

Raphie…” Mikey reached out with grabby hands, still stuck in Leo’s hug.

Raph frowned for a second before deflating and giving into the puppy-dog-eyes, “Oh alright. Fine.”

He stepped forward and wrapped his arms around Mikey and Leo, eyeing Donnie for a moment before reaching out and yanking him into the hug.

A loud thud from the direction of the portal made Donnie’s head shoot up.

An enormous spiky green figure stood up, looking around in confusion, “What the-“

A smaller figure tumbled out of the portal, sticking the landing without trouble, and a green-blue streak shot toward them before Blue collided with the smaller figure and spun them around in a circle, exclaiming, “MIKEY!”

The person Blue identified as his Mikey laughed, hugging the slider back, “Leo! I missed you so, so much!”

“Aww, we missed you guys too,” Blue nuzzled the top of Orange’s head before dropping him and moving to wrap his arms around the behemoth that must have been Red, “C’mon, bring it in, big guy!”

Purple followed at a more sedate pace, leaning against Red’s side with his arms crossed over his chest as Blue received what looked like a bone-crushing hug from the snapper. “It is… good to see you,” Purple sighed, closing their eyes and melting into their older brother’s side.

Four more people exited the portal, three humans and a very, very short rat.

A girl with dark skin and a green jacket tied around her waist over a yellow dress shouted excitedly, ”Leo?! Donnie?!”

“APRIL!” They shouted back in unison.

Other April grabbed them both in a headlock, pulling them down to her level, which meant that they were both bent over nearly double, “I swear, if you two ever pull something like that again I will hunt you down and make you regret the day you were mutated, you hear me?”

They both nodded nervously.

“Good,” She said, releasing them.

“Oh, let me have a look at you,” Said the rat. He must have been alternate Splinter but… He was just so… different. It was hard for Donnie to wrap his head around. Alternate Splinter reached up, and Blue crouched down so the little rat could reach his face. Short Splinter turned Blue’s head this way and that, “Have you boys been eating enough? Sleeping? Purple! Come here!” Purple obeyed, rolling his eyes as short Splinter looked him over.

“Alright, spill,” other April said, “What trouble have the two of you gotten into without us?”

Whahaaat…” Blue laughed nervously, “I have no idea what you’re talking about.”

Other April gave him a flat look, and the girl still standing by the portal piped up, pointing an accusing finger at Blue, “DO NOT LIE TO US BLUE ONE! You and the Purple one are NEVER TO BE LEFT ALONE! AND FOR GOOD REASON!” And okay, wow, that was loud.

The human boy nodded, “Master Leonardo and Master Donatello weren’t allowed to go out on missions alone either. The one time they did, they tried to raid a Krang labour camp on their own, and Master Leonardo lost his arm.”

Red gestured at the boy, “See? You were still disasters in CJ’s timeline.”

“Lies and slander,” Purple huffed. “We most definitely did not hunt down and kill the leader of this universe’s Kraang, and burn Shredder’s Hideout to the ground, that doesn’t sound like something we’d do at all, no sir-ee.”

Donnie!” Blue hissed.

What? I said we didn’t,” Purple hissed back.

“YOU DID WHAT?!” Red shouted.

Eugh boi,” Blue groaned.
