Salespeople and other client-facing colleagues:As we rush into Q2, how about this for a framework for how we approach our jobs?1.There’s nowhere to get to: We are already here, right now!2.There is no-one to become: Who else could we possibly be?3.There is nothing to do: Nothing we can do will make us more complete than we already are.4.There is nothing to get: We already have everything we need to be happy.5.There is nothing to hold on to: Today’s achievements will be transitory and the nature of our work is to have to produce more.Now---let’s all go to work…. Step by step. Doing our jobs. Enjoying the very dailyness of it. Chopping wood, carrying water.

World’s Largest Gas Station Is a New Buc-ee’s With 120 Pumps thedrive.comDo we have any other Buc-ee's fans out there???Two things I love about their strategy: 1) they tailor to a well-defined market - they readily accept that they will not serve truckers, even though tens of thousands of truckers drive past a Buc-ee's every day. They're willing to pass up the trucker business in order to create great experiences for the customers they do serve. 2) they post their job openings and pay scales on a sign outside their front door. I can't imagine that very many people walking into a Buc-ee's are potential employees for that store but it shows, I believe, how proud they are of how well they treat their employees.Let us know how well your organization executes these two strategies ...
