The month-long guessing game that’s been giving General Hospital fans heart palpitations is over: The popular cast member returning to the ABC soap this summer is… Bryan Craig.
A GH rep confirms to TVLine exclusively that Craig will reprise his role as Morgan Corinthos, the late son of Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Carly (Laura Wright), for one episode in early August. It’s unclear what form the dearly departed Morgan will take when he resurfaces, although his comeback will come as his mob boss dad has alienated himself from everyone in Port Charles.

Speculation about a big GH comeback began earlier this month when GH executive producer confirmed on the Daytime Emmys red carpet that a male “former cast member is coming back… that the audience will go crazy for.”
In recent weeks, Craig himself has been hinting at the possibility that the returnee could be him in a series of social media posts, one of which included a recent backstage photo of the GH set.
Craig’s nearly four-year GH run concluded in 2016 after Morgan (presumably) perished in a car bomb. He briefly returned in 2018 when he appeared in a vision to Maura West’s Ava. During his time on the soap, he won two Daytime Emmys for Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series.
Craig recently wrapped a two-season run on the Freeform drama Good Trouble.

It would be wonderful if somehow he survived the car explosion. Heaven knows where he’s been but his father needs him in order to get back on track with the Bipolar.

Sounds like a one off ghost or vision. Thank goodness its not a long term thing. Not a fan of the character or the actor
Reply
Yep, my thoughts.
Returns for only 1 episode, whip-dee-doo…🥴
A vision or dream.
So, I have to ask –
Why the huge commotion?
Here one day, gone the next.Reply
The huge commotion because it gets people talking which gets the show out there. This is the TV world we’re in nowadays. Need to get the name out there. Coverage for GH on TVLine is great!

It would be nice if Craig could stay on GH as a permanent cast member 😉

Not sure the plan matches the hype but that’s show biz!

Only for one episode is a major drag.
Reply
If Bryon Craig is returning for one episode, he might as well stay gone. To come for such a short period is ridiculous. That’s not good news for any one.
Reply
I like Morgan, but this is just MEH. But I can’t say i’m surprised. Those behind this show are so unsoapy. They don’t want this show to have any good drama on it.
Reply
No, thank you. Neither excited nor needed at this point.

Is GH oblivious or do they truly not care about whose return would excite fans? This is not meant to be a slight against Bryan Craig. I was never much of a Morgan fan, but then the Corinthos family is not one I enjoy, I realize fans did love his portrayal and the character, but he has been gone for years and I haven’t seen any fan campaigns or X (formerly Twitter) trending involving his character or the actor in years. And–he is only returning for one day?
The actor and character who continues to trend on at least a weekly basis are Nicholas Alexander Chavez and Spencer Cassadine. His pairing with Tabyana Ali, Sprina, trends on almost a daily basis! This has been happening since he left GH six months ago! Fans want Nicholas and Spencer to return to GH to reunite with Tabyana and Trina. The hashtags #Sprina, #ReuniteSprina, #FightforSprina, #TabyanaAli, #Trina, #Spencer, #NicholasAlexanderChavez have all trended multiple times over the past six months. Show me when Morgan or Byran Craig trended? Show me when his fans sent postcards in mass to the studio in support? Are his fans calling the comment line every day asking for his return and reuniting of his pairing? No.
GH is either clueless about what fans truly desire, or it is a show that doesn’t care. Either one is a sad realization.

NAC is busy, very busy. He has moved on, it was his choice to leave. You can’t blame everything on TPTB at GH. Some things are out of their control. When, not if, but when we see Spencer Cassadine again it will likely be a recast.

Actors live their lives according their own wishes and needs. Hashtags can trend from now till doomsday, that doesn’t mean that Chavez is obligated to return to the show. He’s living HIS life, regardless of what the fans “truly desire.” GH, as a production, can’t exactly shackle him in the studio basem*nt and force him to perform. That fans have unrealistic expectations is, I think, the sadder realization. The show is literally “a story.” The actors are human beings. They make choices, for better or worse. They owe the fans absolutely nothing except a good performance when they’re actually ON the show. (And if Chavez was fired, I don’t doubt there was a reason for it. Again, ABC/GH is not in the business of fan service. It’s a workplace like any other.)

Nicholas Chavez wanted to move on and take his considerable talents to other bigger projects. It has nothing to do with GH writers and execs not listening to whiny shippers. Having said that, I certainly wouldn’t be inclined to grant the wishes of ‘fans’ who are clearly harrassing the studio about an actor dictated decision.

I’d pass out from shock if any character on this show remained dead. I know it’s a staple of the genre, but the number of resurrected characters in Port Charles is staggering, and it makes every “death” (and subsequent mourning period) meaningless. I mean, the next time someone in Carly’s orbit dies, she shouldn’t shed a tear. Why bother? She should know by now that they’ll come back. It’s happened to her repeatedly. It doesn’t make the viewing experience fun—it makes it predictable. It’s lazy. (For example, Spencer should have just gone missing; “killing him off” was a waste of time, he’ll certainly be back.) That said, I would LOVE it if Craig is returning to GH as a different character, like Sarah Joy Brown did some years ago.

Worst Kept Secret….
One off appearance just screams Sonny going cuckoo bananas over the tampered pills storyline that was all but dropped….
Wonder if this or Finn’s grief/alcoholism arch will be this years Emmy reel bait?Reply
Such a let down !!! Lots of disappointment!!! Why can’t the writers listen to the fans !!!
Reply
Who cares? Seriously! Why bring him back for a single episode? Bring him back under contract full time and that’s a big deal. But build up this huge reveal of a mystery cast member coming back and then pulling the rug out from under us by revealing it’s for a single episode and who truly cares?
I would rather they just recast and bring the character back on the canvas full-time. Having Bryan back for a single episode makes that nearly impossible in the foreseeable future because he’s the version that will be in the minds of the audience.

Big deal only one episode!
Reply
Since he’s only appearing for one day, he’s probably coming to Sonny in a dream or an illusion. Hopefully he’ll be able to help his father realize that his bipolar is out of control and he’ll get the help he needs.
Reply
Big whipty-do!!🙄🙄 If he’s willing to come back for only ONE SINGLE episode, I just rather he stay gone. All this crazy hype over one episode is absolutely asinine.🤦🏼♀️

One day of Morgan would be a 666% improvement over the fiddling poolboy who seems to be on every single day, but doesn’t seem to have an actual purpose as a character at all.
And for those of you who ask whether Morgan is actually dead… well let me put it this way… he ain’t down here! Now if you want to believe he made it upstairs on some sort of “waiver” because of his mental illness, I guess it’s possible. But the angels up there who still return my phone calls, say they haven’t seen him.

Oh, good. More reasons to feature that character’s mumbling father and snarling mother in yet more scenes.

Probably in a dream sequence

It would be great to have Morgan Corentos come back & have his dad Sonny back to the fullest. Make Eva pay for what she has done to Sonny for the 2nd time. Someone knowsof Morgan’s whereabouts you

So excited about this!

So let’s see….Sonny or Carly nearly dies, likely in resolution (finally!) of the Pikeman storyline, or maybe the bipolar story if it’s Sonny. Said parent then runs into Morgan in the “almost-but-not-quite afterlife” of soapland. Morgan convinces his parent it isn’t their time, parent miraculously survives….and scene! Sorry he couldn’t stay a little longer. And a one off is hardly “coming back,” it’s just an appearance….

I hope he’s just not coming in a dream. I mean, if you’re gonna give us Morgan and give us Morgan full-time.

I’ve been waiting for Morgan to come back since the accident
